Ravid Solomon Zemler received her B.Sc. degree in Biology from Haifa University. She completed her Master’s Degree in the Departments of Pathology and Human Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry, Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, working under the joint supervision of Dr. Efrat Wertheimer and Prof. Haim Werner. Ravid’s M.Sc. project dealt with the role and activities of insulin analogues in skin keratinocytes. Currently, Ravid is a Ph.D. student in Prof. Haim Werner’s laboratory. Her main field of interest is the characterization and biological analyses of IGF1R translocation into the nucleus. Nuclear translocation of IGF1R became a topic of major interest in recent years. Ravid’s studies are aimed to evaluate the hypothesis that nuclear IGF1R adopt novel genomic roles that may, eventually, allow tumor cells to establish a more aggressive phenotype.
