Lena Lapkina, Ph.D. student

Lena Lapkina Gendler received her B.A. in Nursing from the Faculty of Medicine in Tel Aviv University. She is currently a direct Ph.D. student in Prof. Haim Werner’s laboratory at the Department of Human Molecular Genetics & Biochemistry, Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. Her main field of interest is identification of cancer protection pathways in Laron Syndrome patients. She has identified a series of genes and signaling pathways that are differentially expressed in LS and now she is working on understanding the mechanisms by which congenital IGF1 deficiency confers protection from development of malignancies.
