Karthik Nagaraj, Ph.D. Student

Karthik Nagaraj received his B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from R.K.M.Vivekananda College, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. He completed his Master’s Degree at the Dr.ALM PG Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Taramani campus, Madras University. Karthik’s M.Sc. project dealt with the role of iNOS in obesity-related cardiovascular disease, and with the role of leptin on iNOS expression. He received his M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Genetics from the Department of Genetics. After completion of his M.Sc. degree, Karthik worked as a Junior Research Fellow in the Cancer Genetics lab at Madurai Kamaraj University and Department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology – Madras (IIT-M), Chennai, India. Currently, Karthik is a Ph.D. student in Prof. Haim Werner’s laboratory. Karthik’s project deals with the identification and characterization of metabolic genes associated with cancer protection in Laron syndrome.
